Winter
 (February 15) temperature
 vertically
 averaged within the mixed
 layer.

 The
 simulated fields are very similar,
 largely
 because ocean surface
 temperature
 tends to track air
 temperature.

 Model
T tends to be too warm in both
 the
 eastern equatorial region and in
 the
 western subpolar gyre. The lack
 of
 sea ice and meridional overturning
 contribute
 to the latter discrepancy.
