Winter
T fields simulated by
HYCOM
using the two hybrid K-T
mixing
schemes are very similar,
primarily
because surface
temperature
tends to track air
temperature.
S
and mixed layer thickness fields
are
not very similar. The
simplified
K-T 2 mixing scheme
does
a poor job of simulating
the
nearsurface S field in particular.
The
full K-T 1 mixing scheme
performs
better than the simplified
K-T
2 scheme.
