the HYCOM/MICOM
equation
of state.
HYCOM
was run with KPP mixing
and
relaxation boundary conditions
to
produce the “best” possible
simulation.
Relaxation
boundary conditions
caused
the simulated census to
more-closely
resemble the observed
census.
The BC’s act to “form”
water
masses that are actually
formed
outside of the model
domain,
bringing the simulated
census
closer to reality.
