summer (Aug. 15) meridional overturning circulation is graphed for
six
HYCOM simulations as a function of latitude and depth. The five
simulations
without relaxation BC’s are very similar to each other.

BC’s clearly enhance the meridional overturning circulation. In
particular,
northward flow of bottom water is evident only in the BC case.
