Summer (August 15) temperature vertically averaged within the mixed layer. The simulated fields are again fairly similar, largely because ocean surface temperature tends to track air temperature. The interior of the subtropical gyre tends to get too warm with K-T mixing. The simulated Labrador Sea tends to be too warm in all HYCOM simulations as it was in winter.
